| My turn to make one of these posts... :-/ 6:15, crawling on the beltway, four lanes of brake lights... I'm in the right lane, about a quarter mile from my exit when BAM! I'm still in disbelief over the amount of damage that can occur at such a low speed. It was a white Ford Econoline van, and the guy said his foot slipped off the pedal. I'm thinking maybe it slipped onto the accelerator, because I swear traffic was moving at about 3 mph.

More pictures here: La-Z-Link Bernie, I was praying as I got out to check the damage that my tails were good and cracked, but despite the destruction surrounding them, they seem to have escaped with only this on the driver's side:
I reported it to my insurance company last night and am waiting for an appointment to get the damage appraised. Doesn't look cheap - I'm thinking the whole rear piece of metal needs to be replaced because it's all torqued out of alignment with the hatch. Anything in particular I need to be aware of when I go to get the work done?
